Be My Dog

by HEATHER HOLMES

Look at me
With brown pitiful eyes
Nuzzle me
With that soft fuzzy face
Fetch
The slobber coated tennis ball
Eat
The ancient meatloaf leftovers
Do not chew
On my expensive stilettos
Or the furniture
Bite the mailman
Quit urinating
On the plastic house plants
Bark at intruders
Protect your domain
Be my dog
